The Most Hype Museum in Jakarta : museum macan

I went to a museum in Jakarta!! That's like the first time in 10 years, hahahah. Well, the reason I hardly visited any museums in my city is that I was always under the impression that it's not well maintained and dark and spooky and all (which is true). Then I found out about this museum; the first time people heard the name of the museum, they immediately think the museum is just an exhibition of some tigers, now, don't blame them. Macan in Bahasa Indonesia does mean 'tiger', but actually, it's an abbreviation for Museum of Modern Contemporary Art in Nusantara. It exhibits 90 arts which were collected by Haryanto Adikoesumo, the man behind this museum. Currently, Museum Macan exhibits the work of Yayoi Kusama, one of the world's most recognized living artist. Her gallery is also located in New York, Manila, Singapore, Tokyo etc.
Anyways, yea I found about this museum from Instagram haha! you already know I'm on Instagram almost all the time and I think the place was very cool, it's worth visiting and it's quite instagrammable :p
The museum is open Tuesday-Sunday 10a.m.-7p.m.

I even booked the ticket to save time, I had never booked a ticket to a museum before hahaha. It is highly suggested that you visit the museum when it's just opened because it will be busy later in the afternoon and it'll be harder to snap some pictures. However, visitors are not allowed to bring a professional camera, no flash, only phone photography is allowed. Don't bring children please because they will touch the arts which also forbidden and really, don't bring children, some kid leaked his/her pants and it was a mess! Seriously. Like really. Wear diapers if you can't hold (yeah, you adults too)
The downside of this museum is probably because it has been made so uniquely and all, visitors are there just to take pictures (me too) but we can't really enjoy the arts because, in some installations like in the infinity mirrored room, the visitors are only allowed to be there 30 seconds! Come on! 30 seconds is not even enough to take a decent picture let alone enjoy the room. I felt like in theme park though, we had to stand in line to get into the infinity room then rushed ourselves to snap pictures.
All in all, it's quite interesting, it's actually a very interesting place. It took me one hour or so to explore the museum. And here comes the pictures (this is the best I could do since it's only camera phone).

It was a cool experience, but I don't think I'd come back. #doitforthegram right? haha. It was also a well spent Sunday that I was able to catch up with my old friends :D
