Oh geez, it’s
been over a year since the last time I wrote anything. Time flies . Crazy. Oh well, but I didn’t really travel that much
this year, I only went to Southern China this October. It was a short trip, only 8 days to Guilin, Longji, Liuzhou, Sanjiang and Yangshuo. Of course, I used travel agent service again,
I don’t speak Chinese, and the Chinese don’t speak English, it’d be a hell of struggle
if I went there independently. I went
there with my mother, a way to bond with my queen hehe. I won’t
write much, I’d rather show you plenty pictures that I have posted on my instagram page. But the shots I post here on my blog mostly aren't retouched and I only used iPhone :p No, it's not paid advertisement, lol.
Anyways,
without further ado, let’s get into it. My
first stop this time was Guilin, a prefecture-level city in the northeastof
China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
My local guide decided to just visit one place that day so we could take
a rest after not a very long flight. That
place is a natural limestone cave, known as Reed Flute Cave. The name is derived from a variety of
naturally abundant reed that grows throughout the area, which can be used to
make flutes. Ha! That’s some info, my
local guide is very fluent in Bahasa Indonesia, my mother tongue. It was
really hot, apparently autumn season comes a bit later in Southern China and I
wore my leather jumpsuit at 34 Degrees C, oh my oh my. Yap! Suffer for fashion, a bit stupid I know,
but I really like that jumpsuit, I couldn’t help it. Lol :P
Anywaaaaayyyysss,
these are some shots I got from there.
Whenever I heard that word ‘cave’, I remember Jon Snow and Ygritte, oh they should’ve stayed in that cave. Sad L
On my
second day, we moved to Longji to visit the terrace fields and hadlunch with
the minority group, which is Yao Minority.
Honestly, it’s not that exciting the day 2, maybe because the air quality
was so bad, and it was sizzling hot. Although,
it was quite interesting to watch the Yao Minority performing some traditional
dances before lunch. They also dragged
some people in our group to join them , thank God, it wasn’t me.

Moving on
to my 3rd day in Guangxi Province (yes, I rush myself to finish this
one, because of personal reasons that I believe none of you are interested hehe). From Longji, we went to Sanjiang. We only spent a night and a half day
there. At night we visited this local
community buiding, which at first I thought was a shrine, duh.
It's just a photo stop or you could rent a traditional clothes or garment and snap some pictures. No, I didn't do that. It's way to hot.
Then we went to this Chengyang Wind & Rain Bridge or formally known as Yongji Bridge of Chengyang. It's probably one of the most famous wind & rain bridge in China. Its got the name due to its capability to endure the weather, which sometimes can be harsh.
It is mainly made of wood but in an interesting way: no nails or rivets are used. All connections are made by dovetailing a wood and despite simple materials, ingenuity of workmanship of Dong people made the bridge so sturdy that bridge still stands and is in constant use. Along the wooden railings, there are benches that are used for relaxation. source click here
Then we had lunch with ethnic minority again, this time it was Dong Minority group, the lunch was unique and the waitresses chugged a shot of their local beer or I-don't-know-what-it-was down to our throats. I felt violated a bit. lol, no.
So, right after that we went to Liuzhou and at night we explored Wuxing Walking Street, which was pretty impressive considering Liuzhou is just a prefecture-level city or you can say small city, because the walking street is quite nice, with a lot of international brand stores.
The day after, day 4 to be precised, we visited Liuzhou Industrial Museum and later on Kong Miao Confucius Temple.
Oh my Lord, I know it's such a long post, apologize, please hang with me :*
1. Liuzhou Industrial Museum
Basically this museum exhibits the history of industrial growth in Liuzhou, mainly transportation. it's super huge, clean, dark, spooky in a way, lol, no.
2. Kong Miao Confucius Temple, Liuzhou
Confucian temple is a place where people come to worship Confucius. The earliest recorded Confucian Temple in the city of Liuzhou, in the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, was built in the Tang Dynasty (AD 618-907), about 1,380 years ago. The architectureof Liuzhou's Confucian Temple combines Song Dynasty (AD 420-479) style with local Lingnan style. source : chinadaily.com.cn
And that's all for now babes, haha. I will update part II next week, maybe, insha Allah :* Hope you like my shots, only iPhone and most of them aren't retouched, meaning no edit, no filter. hehe.
