The super famous filming location of Winter Sonata! |
Nami Island
was the next destination! Nami
Island is very famous
with the tall trees that located almost everywhere. It is a tiny half-moon shaped island located
in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province – about 60km east from Seoul.
It is also know as Namiseom, it was formed as
a result of the construction of Cheongpyeong Dam. It’s 430,000 square meters and approximately
4km in diameter. Some also said that it
is “fake island” well, most likely because it is man made. It’s very cool, and
super rich of Minn
Byeong-do who purchased the island in 1965 and reforest it. It’s very possible for visitors to really
explore the island, it’s just a little island, however for me, aside from the
limited time given, I did wear uncomfortable pair of shoes, it’s so freaking
painful!

Thought those were balloons hanging up there :p |
It
only took 1 hour flight from Jeju-do to Seoul
and as we arrived at the airport, the photographer had waited for us. Yes, there was a photographer dedicated for
our group by MJCT Korea. And I totally
forgot to mention that our trip in Korea
was arranged by Golden Rama Tours & Travel Indonesia and Golden Rama
partners with MJCT travel agency in Korea. So, yeah, in China there was
a photographer to just like this one, I personally don’t need this photographer
because as you know it, at the end of the trip he/she would sell the pictures
he/she had taken with high price. I
don’t really like it, because hey, I already got a camera, well two actually:
mirrorless and camera phone (and it’s iPhone, duh) but then again, this
photographer by MJCT Korea helped a lot during our trip aside from his duty as
photographer.

Can you spot your native language there? |
It was pouring when we got in Chuncheon then we took a ferry
ride for around 5 minutes to get to the island.
I was excited to visit this place, I already planned what I’d wear there
a week in prior. Though I knew there’d
be a lot of walk, I wore pointed heels still, it’s only 2” but man, my feet were in pain so bad! But you know, girls gotta do what girls gotta do: Look good! :p
Good thing I prepared some Hansaplast ;D And I just think the heels were the
perfect match for black leather top and red scuba skirt. The replacement for the black heels would be
black flat shoes, but I don’t have a pair.
IKR, what a silly girl?! Emily worried about me a little, she asked me
if I was not freezing because it was a little chilly when pouring and
she asked me if my feet were okay. I was okay, relax, I know very well
what I did to myself :p However, that's really nice of her, such a
caring lady :)

It's Spring, Baby! It looks like Autumn, no? |

These little guys ;p |
Anyways, a little bit about the island itself, Namiseom has been the center of culture and leisure for the past decades. In 2006, it even declared its own cultural independence as Naminara Republic resulting its own flag, anthem, currency, passport and phone cards, and even citizenship. But relax, all of that things such as "visa" is required to enter Nami Island just like ticket. Naminara is unique, it has been supporting to improve the mental and well-being of children from all over the world. There are several indoor and outdoor stages, as well as facilities for seminars and workshop, also amusement park and picnic area. The admission fee for adult is KRW10,000.
Its name originated from General Nami (남이장군),[1] who died at the age of 28 after being falsely accused of treason during the reign of King Sejo, the seventh king of the Joseon Dynasty of Korea. Although his grave was not discovered, there were a pile of stones where his body was supposed to be buried... - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Namiseom
Nami Island gained its fame after the K-Drama, Winter Sonata was aired in 2002. There are still a lot of posters of it nearby the filming set. The best time to visit Namiseom would be either in Autumn or Winter, but of course, it'd be twice or thrice more crowded :)

They even made the statue of the couple in Winter Sonata K-Drama. Geez! |
